Warren Ellis & Jason Masters “James Bond, Vol 2: Eidolon”
(Dynamite Entertainment, 2017)
I loved the first volume of Warren Ellis’ James Bond. And I’m
happy to say that the second volume is even better.
With the defeat of SPECTRE, Bond is at home and Ellis turns
to face the inevitable corruption and rot at the core of the Empire.
Everything I liked about the first volume is still here:
banter, minimalist yet powerful storytelling, a commitment to Bond as
character.
One thing that has to be mentioned is the stellar job by
Jason Masters on this series. He does a great job of the sort of contemporary
minimalist storytelling you see on several of the lauded Image books.
This is another great volume in this series. Keep reading them as long as Ellis keeps writing
them!
